What is SparseBox?

SparseBox lets you unlock hidden system features that Apple disables on older devices, without needing to jailbreak on iOS 16, 17, or 18. It uses a new exploit called SparseRestore, which taps into the backup mechanism to inject custom code. Duy Tran Khanh cleverly implemented this exploit on-device, utilizing a local VPN for seamless operation.

SparseBox combines SparseRestore with technologies from the SideStore IPA installer, such as minimuxer and WireGuard VPN, using a SideStore configuration file pointed to the local host. Setup can be tricky since there’s no official guide yet, but it’s a promising tool for the jailbreaking community.

Once you’ve installed the SparseBox app, uploaded a pairing file, and activated the WireGuard VPN, you can apply tweaks similar to those in MisakaX or Nugget. Like desktop tools that modify MobileGestalt, SparseBox requires disabling Find My iPhone.

How to install SparseBox IPA on iOS in 2025

Method 1: Sideload SparseBox IPA with Sideloadly

Sideloadly, based on the AltStore IPA installer, is a popular tool for sideloading the SparseBox IPA onto your iOS device. It uses a free signing certificate provided by Apple and supports all iPhones and iPads.

Here's how to sideload SparseBox IPA via Sideloadly:

1. Download the latest SparseBox IPA for iOS.
2. Install Sideloadly for Windows or macOS.
3. Sideload SparseBox IPA by following the guide Installing IPA on iPhone.
4. Open the SparseBox App from your Home Screen.

Method 2: Install SparseBox IPA via TrollStore

SparseBox was released as an IPA package that can be sideloaded onto your iPhone using the TrollStore 2 IPA Installer. If you have a compatible device running iOS 14 to 17.0 with TrollStore, you can install the SparseBox IPA permanently without needing a signing certificate.

Here's how to install SparseBox IPA with TrollStore:

1. Install TrollStore on firmware between iOS 14.0 to iOS 17.0.
2. Download SparseBox IPA for iOS and save it on iCloud.
3. Share the downloaded IPA file with the TrollStore app.
4. TrollStore will automatically install SparseBox when the file is loaded.
5. Access SparseBox App from the Home Screen.
