What is Amelija?
Amelija is a free jailbreak tweak that allows you to set on the fly custom blur for your Lock Screen and Home Screen wallpaper. This is a very nice tool to customize the look of any wallpaper, and what's more it comes with 8 different blur effects that can be applied. The most recent release of Amelija tweak supports now Fugu15 Max and Dopamine jailbreaks.
Once installed, Amelija tweak adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app, from where you can configure all available options to your liking. From here, you can set different blur settings for the wallpaper displayed on the Home Screen and Lock Screen.
Amelija tweak for iOS offers users a choice of eight distinct blur effects. These include Epic, Dark, Light, Adaptive, Prominent, System Thin Material, System Chrome Material, and System Ultra-Thin Material. By applying a blurred effect, it diverts some of the viewer's attention away from the wallpaper image, allowing for a more subtle and refined aesthetic.
On top of that, you have the control over the intensity of the blur effect with a slider. Luki120, the developer behind the tweak, also included a toggle to enable blur only with notifs. All filters are applied in real time and there is no need to respring your iPhone to see the wallpaper effect.
From tweaks setting, you can also reset all preferences to default values with just one tap, and toggle on and off the effect for the Lock Screen and Home Screen. This is a simple tweak, and it doesn't offer too many options, but it works perfectly with all features that it offers.
In the latest release, the developer mot only adds code improvements to the tweak but also, moved all blur effects to dedicated page from where you can select it. The configuration looks now cleaner and user-friendly. The jailbreak tweak officially supports only iOS 14.
Amelija was released as an open source tweak under Mozilla Public License 2.0, and you can download the source code from GitHub Repository. The tweak was written mostly in Objective-C and Logos languages. Contributions are more than welcomed to add new features.
To compile the project yourself, it's required to use theos libraries. This is a cross-platform suite of development tools for managing, developing, and deploying iOS tweaks without Xcode.
