Not many people still have a working iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4S. If you do, and you're running iOS 5.0 – iOS 6.1.2, you can jailbreak it. This allows you to add new tweaks and add-ons, giving your device a new lease on life.
g1lbertJB Jailbreak is intended to be used from Mac and Linux. There is no Windows version available. Even though not many people are likely to use g1lbertJB today, the developers claim the release is significant. It was the first public iOS 5.1 jailbreak for the iPhone 4S. g1lbertJB is based on another jailbreak tool g1lbertCFW. This version is maintained by LukeZGD one of the original developers and contains mostly bug fixes and some small improvements. According to the official GitHub Repository, the last version of LukeZGD's g1lbertJB was updated in June 2024.
Version 1.0.4 comes with update g1lbertJB, Safe Mode, and Substrate debs. What's more, g1lbertJB repo is no longer added by default and it prevents uninstallation of Safe Mode and Substrate.
LukeZGD also fixed device and version detection issues including iPod Touch 4th gen being detected as unsupported. He also removed some unnecessary steps from the jailbreak process and improved removing leftover files after jailbreaking. g1lbertJB 1.0.4 is the latest version of the iOS 5 and iOS 6 jailbreak.
