Anouk tweak for iOS
Anouk, created by Yandevelop, enhances privacy features on iOS devices by introducing an additional layer of protection for Hidden albums in the Photos app. Moreover, in its latest release, Anouk tweak extends this safeguard to third-party apps as well. This tweak is compatible with both rootful and rootless jailbreak environments, spanning iOS versions 13.0 through iOS 16. Those include palera1n, Dopamine, XinaA15, unc0ver, etc.
Add Anouk Repository
Anuk tweak was released as a DEB package that can be installed on a jailbroken environment spinning from iOS 13.0 all the way up to iOS 16.7.2. The tweak was published through Havoc. Add the repository to your favorite package manager to install the latest release of Anouk.
What is Anouk?
Anouk, a jailbreak tweak, introduces an authentication layer to the hidden photos album. Upon installation, it mandates biometric authentication for accessing the Hidden album not only within the Photos app but also across third-party applications. However, with this new feature update, the developer has opted to make the tweak close source and as a paid offering at $0.99.
After the installation, the Anouk tweak seamlessly integrates into the Photos app. When attempting to open a Hidden album, it prompts you for Face ID authentication or your passcode to gain access and view the concealed content. It's important to mention that starting from iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, the native Photos app provides biometric authentication before allowing access to the Hidden album. Older devices don't have this kind of feature.
Anouk tweak supports all modern jailbreaks running iOS 13, iOS 14, iOS 15, and iOS 16. As for now iOS 17 is not officially supported, but may be in future releases of the tweak.
Anouk has extended its protection to third-party apps, introduced the option to display a lock icon instead of item count (compatible with iOS 15+), enhanced authentication speed through a new technique, revamped the settings page for improved usability, refactored the entire code, and in version 1.1.1 addressed a FaceID issue on certain devices, while version 1.1, released 7 months ago, added preferences, the option to lock "Recently deleted," iPad support, and preliminary support for iOS 13 & 14, fixing the Photos app crashing on startup.
