Jailbreaking Communities and Resources

Jailbreak wouldn’t be possible without the community. I've put together a guide to online communities, forums, and resources for fellow jailbreaking enthusiasts. Be cautious of fake websites, but the sources I've listed, like ONE Jailbreak, are trustworthy places to find help and discover new jailbreaks and tweaks.

1. GitHub

GitHub is a platform where developers can create, store, manage, and share their code. Jailbreak developers often use it to distribute their projects. On GitHub, you can find source code for tweaks, jailbreaking tools, useful libraries, and more. A great place to find top resources is qbap's starred library, which features many projects.

These include open-source apps for iOS, jailbreak tools, various free tweaks, useful scripts, IPA installers, JIT enablers, classic console emulators, forensics of mobile devices, and much more. New and interesting projects related to jailbreaking are regularly added to this page, making it easy to find valuable resources.

Additionally, you can use GitHub's built-in search engine to find even more jailbreak resources, including both learning materials and compiled projects. There are thousands of resources available.

2. ONE Jailbreak

ONE Jailbreak is the number one source to find jailbreak news, the latest tweaks, and everything about jailbreak. The website focuses on quality content and refers only to trusted sources in the jailbreaking community. There are a lot of fake websites offering never released jailbreak tools. ONE Jailbreak is a gem.

The website supported by the jailbreaking community offers articles on the veracity of topics related to jailbreak. You can not only download from here trusted and tested jailbreak tools but also find articles to improve your jailbreaking and security skills. Learn how to jailbreak, install packages, and improve your iDevice.

ONE Jailbreak also offers a database with IPA files of popular apps not released in the App Store. There is also a section where you can find the most useful and popular TIPA files for TrollStore.

3. X (Twitter)

X (previously Twitter) is a platform where most of the jailbreaking community is releasing their discoveries, new jailbreak tools, tweaks, exploits, and more. All the important figures in the community are present and active on the X platform. @saurik, @opa334dev, and @Pwn20wnd are the most famous ones.

There are hundreds of accounts that you can follow for jailbreak news, however, @onejailbreak_ covers all the important topics in one place. It's recommended to follow this account for the latest updates on tweak development and jailbreak releases. This is the official X account for the ONE Jailbreak website.

Here you can also find all the important changes from qbap's starred library. It's a great alternative if you don't use GitHub. Remember to follow and tap the bell to keep up with new releases on @onejailbreak_.

4. Reddit

The biggest jailbreaking community, with over 700k users, is available at r/Jailbreak on Reddit. Here, you can find new tweak releases, ask questions, make tweak requests, and more. However, due to the moderators, it may be hard for newcomers to feel comfortable asking questions or finding an answer.

r/Jailbreak also contains an FAQ section with articles on various topics including tweak libraries. You'll find information on common troubleshooting, downgrading and upgrading, and managing blobs. There's also guidance on whether you should update, how to force reboot your device, and FAQs about DFU Mode and Recovery Mode. These resources are helpful for anyone looking to understand more about jailbreaking.

Over the years, Reddit has changed, and even the most famous jailbreakers have had problems posting their discoveries. Still, it remains a great resource for reading about common issues and important releases. It's worth adding this page to your bookmarks and visiting it regularly for updates created by the jailbreaking community.

5. Havoc

Havoc is one of the most popular resources for finding jailbreak tweaks, themes, and apps. Launched as Packix's successor, it offers new features, support for modern jailbreaks, and a reliable collection of tools. Tweak developers often use Havoc as their main repository to distribute their packages.

From this jailbreaking resource, you can download tweaks to add new features to the Home Screen, Lock Screen, Siri, improved animations, battery, clipboard, and many others. There are also distributed commercial TrollStore apps and hundreds of jailbreak icon themes for the SnowBoard theming engine.

While it lacks reviews and comments, its main purpose is to sell and distribute paid and free tweaks for all jailbreaks. Havoc is one of the first repositories you should add to a package manager after jailbreaking your iPhone or iPad. This jailbreaking resource is essential to download Cydia tweaks and themes.

6. Chariz

Chariz is another popular jailbreaking resource with tweaks for iOS and iPadOS. The repository is very long on the market offering free and paid tweaks for rootless and rootful jailbreaks. The people behind this project are maintaining NewTerm, libcephei, Theos, among many others.

Theos started as an iPhone framework designed to simplify code development for command line interfaces on jailbroken iOS devices. It quickly became a leading library for creating and compiling high-quality jailbreak tweaks, supporting both rootful and rootless setups. Over time, Theos evolved into a flexible Make-based build system for desktop platforms, including Windows, Linux, and macOS.

NewTerm 2 is a lightweight mobile version of the popular terminal emulators Mobile Terminal and iTerm2 for iOS devices. This powerful command-line app is packed with numerous useful features, making it a top choice for those with jailbroken iOS devices. It's compatible with iOS 14 and iOS 15, ensuring that you can enjoy its benefits on the latest iOS releases.

7. r/Jailbreak on Discord

If you're a Discord user, there are also forums dedicated to the jailbreak community. One of the most popular is r/Jailbreak, but to be honest, it's maintained by one person and lacks the community feel of Reddit. It also doesn't offer any unique content, just copy and paste.

There are just a few categories, such as jailbreak, general, and themes. There is also a dedicated section for r/jailbreak-news. The r/Jailbreak Discord has over 110k registered users. However, activity is sparse, with only a few posts per month, most of which are not related to jailbreaking or relevant topics.

Using dedicated Discords for jailbreaks and those created by developers is recommended.

8. palera1n on Discord

Palera1n has also a dedicated Discord channel where you can find all the news and udpates. Here you can find not only palera1n updates, but also new iOS releases, GitHub notifications, giveaways, external announces, and more. This Discord has much more active users creating the jailbreaking community.

There is also a commands section where you can easily check if your device can be jailbroken or what firmware is installed. Additionally, there's a section with user setups, where you can find inspiration for making your Home and Lock screens look beautiful. This is a great Discord I would recommend to follow.
