AppTapp Installer 5 for iOS

AppTapp Installer 5.1

AppTapp Installer 5 is one of the top Cydia alternatives for jailbroken devices. It supports iOS 11 and up and can be installed on all modern jailbreaks. It offers probably more features than all other package managers combined. Jailbreak required!

Add Installer Repo to your package manager.

What is AppTapp Installer?

AppTapp Installer 5 is a package manager that can be an excellent Cydia replacement for all jailbroken devices. It's packed with a lot of features, works fast, and it's frequently updated with new features. Installer 5 supports iOS 11, iOS 12, iOS 13, iOS 14, iOS 15, and iOS 16.

Installer 5 offers a clean and modern interface that can be easily explored. The home tab shows a list of featured jailbreak tweaks, most downloaded packages, must-have tweaks & themes, and hacks to extend your apps. From here, you can also access the Settings pane.

Once installed, AppTapp Installer 5 will import all repositories from other package managers. This way you don't have to waste time manually re-adding new sources with tweaks.

All packages are displayed on a clean interface with all information you would require. There's included actual version, category, what's new, description, developer name, reviews, dependencies, conflicts, developer website link, repository name, and more by the developer.

What's more, you can now follow your favorite repositories and developers and be notified when they release a new package. This social feature can be handy to find great tweaks or apps in a thousand of packages, refreshed every day by the community.

AppTapp Installer 5 recognizes the same package available through different repositories, allowing you to choose from which one it should be installed on your device. Installed packages can be easily uninstalled, reinstalled, downgraded, or ignored for updates.

There is also a Wishlist where you can add interesting tweaks and apps. There are thousands of tweaks available and when you see one that is fun it can really quickly be lost if you don't save it. This feature is great for that. Package's Wishlist is available through Settings.

The section tab contains a list of shortcuts to all packages, installed packages, updated packages, new packages, and installed repositories. From here you can also browse repositories and view a combined list of packages for all sources in categories.

Installer Manage tab displays installed packages and sources. At a glance, you can see recent changes in repositories, available and installed packages, refresh all sources, add new ones, and export packages and repository lists in text format. Package search engine is also available.

Since version 5.0 support for iOS 10 and lower has been dropped. Installer 5.1 beta is available for download. The latest version comes with a complete redesign and a major backend rewrite, which included several new features and fixing a lot of bugs. Get it from the beta repo.

AppTapp Installer 5 supports free and paid repositories. Buy and restore purchases from repos directly in the package manager. Manage available store accounts and purchases directly from app settings, view the list of followed developers, and check download history.

The app comes with a built-in backup creator, allowing you to save the Installer setup for quick restore. Installer 5 itself can also be configured to your liking. Enable biometric authentication for tasks, show incompatible packages, play sound for tasks, or show beta packages.

AppTapp provided some settings to configure the interface style. Change manually Installer 5 style to blue, gray, and OLED dark modes, or enable the auto-style switch to change style based on system settings. Additionally, the app can clear icons and screenshots cache to save space.

Hide packages version, tweak compatibility indicator, package descriptions, display original core repository icon, verbose progress view, disable large navigation bars, activate URL Schemes for Installer (re-hook), change app language, and more. AppTapp Installer is my favorite APT.

The previous version of Installer 4 by Apptapp was released as an open-source project, with code available through GitHub Repository. If you are a developer, you can take a look at the source and fork the project for development. Languages used 38.9% C and 33.8% Objective-C.

Installer 4 is built on Xcode 3.2 with iPhone 2.0 SDK and later. You will have to modify the project settings for it to build on recent Xcode versions. Source code is released under the MIT license.

AppTapp Installer 5.1 Public BETA

Recently, AppTapp Installer 5.1 was updated with a complete redesign and a major backend rewrite, which included several new features and fixing a lot of bugs. The latest beta release is compatible with iOS 13 and higher. What's more, it will also work on iOS 15 and the latest iOS 16.

Installer 5.1 can now automatically check if you have any unused dependencies installed and offer to remove them for you. This is a new feature designed to minimize device clutter, keeping unnecessary packages from causing any issues. There is also adaptive dark mode. Installer 5 will now automatically switch between light and dark mode based on the device’s settings.

AppTapp Installer 5.1 was not updated for a long time, but recently the developer released a brand new (sandboxed for now) version of Installer 5.1 on iOS 16. The beta release of Installer 5.1 works on iOS 11 up to and including iOS 16 on both root and rootless jailbreaks.

Installer 5 won't work on XinaA15 jailbreak. It keeps crashing every time you try to open it.

AppTapp Installer 5 was never updated to support rootless jailbreaks such as XinaA15.
