Feather is the first open-source, on-device IPA Installer brought to you by Krava LLC. It allows you not only to sign apps and games using a certificate, but also inject tweaks, modify dylibs, and change various properties.

One of the options to use Feather IPA Installer is to purchase a certificate from Krava LLC. They provide a one-year developer certificate for £7 with all the necessary entitlements for sideloading Push notifications, Allow VPN, HealthKit, iCloud, NFC Reading, and more to make your sideloading experience amazing.

However, you can also download Feather Certificate for free. This one can get revoked by Apple, but with this guide, you’ll uncover how to locate free signing certificates that you can import into Feather IPA Installer. I’ll also walk you through how to install a certificate and sign IPA files for free using Feather on your iPhone.

How to use a free signing certificate

Because the free certificate is available for everyone, it will eventually get revoked by Apple. The is no guarantee of how long will it work, but it's free to use so it's worth to try it. Krava LLC sells a certificate with a 365-day warranty that will work, but you are here because you want one for free.

Import a free signing certificate

However, there is an option to download a certificate for free:

Step 1: Download Feather Certificate for Free

Publicly released certificates are often shared on sites like AppleP12.com and are widely used by App Stores such as iGameGod, Panda Helper, and others. However, this popularity comes with a downside: these certificates typically work for only a couple of days to a few weeks before Apple eventually revokes them.

Step 1. Download the Certificate from our mirror link.

Step 2. Extract the ZIP archive using the password "AppleP12.com".

Step 3. Open the folder and check that both the .mobileprovision and .p12 files are inside.

Conclusion

Since Esign has been discontinued and its official files are no longer available, Feather IPA Installer is a great alternative. It’s open-source, user-friendly, and supports both paid and free certificates.

If you’d rather not pay for certificates to sign and install IPA files on your iPhone, there’s a free workaround. You can download a certificate from our publicly distributed mirror. As of August 2025, the Feather Certificate is still working and lets you sign apps for free. Keep in mind, that this could change if Apple revokes it.

The free enterprise certificate works with various tools like Gbox, FlekStore, Scarlet, and others. However, if it stops working, none of these apps will support it. Krava LLC released Feather App as an open-source project under the GPL-3.0 license and today it's one of the best options to sign IPA files on-device.

Whether you download a free Feather Certificate or purchase one from the developer, it will enable you to install apps on your device. You can also learn how to import FlekStore Certificate to sign and install IPA on-device.
