Canvas tweak can change iPhone screen resolution
All iPhones come with a preinstalled screen resolution that is not easily adjustable by the device owner. This resolution is meticulously calibrated by Apple. However, there might be instances where you'd want to modify the screen size, particularly to enable Dynamic Island on iOS 16. The Canvas tweak for Misaka provides a solution for accomplishing this without the necessity of jailbreaking your device, compatible with iOS 15 – iOS 16.
What is Canvas?
Canvas, created by uz.ra (ChromiumCandy), is an innovative Misaka tweak that simplifies the process of adjusting the screen resolution on iPhones. It boasts compatibility with a wide range of iPhones running iOS 15 through iOS 16.5, as well as iOS 16.6 Beta 1, thanks to its support for both MDC and KFD exploits. Notably, Canvas tweak automatically selects the appropriate exploit for writing the new settings, ensuring a seamless user experience.
Once you've successfully installed the Canvas tweak via Misaka, you'll gain access to a user-friendly configuration interface. To access the tweak's settings, head over to the “Packages” tab, and with a simple tap and hold on the Canvas icon. In the “Advanced Settings” section, you'll have the flexibility to choose various screen resolutions based on selected device type.
Canvas tweak also has the capability to activate Dynamic Island mode on all devices running iOS 16 through iOS 16.5. It's worth noting that on notched devices, Dynamic Island is partially hidden initially. However, once revealed, you gain access to a full suite of features, including an exclusive option specifically tailored for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Note: Enabling AssistiveTouch is highly recommended in case something wrong happens, especially on Home Button devices, since there is a possibility that Home Button is disabled.
Canvas offers a broader range of compatibility compared to the Sizei tweak. It can modify resolutions for devices running iOS 15 through iOS 16.1.2 using the MacDirtyCow exploit, as well as for devices on iOS 16.2 through iOS 16.5 and iOS 16.6 Beta 1 through the use of KFD exploit. This wide-ranging support ensures that Canvas can cater to a variety of iOS versions.
After you've adjusted the resolution using the Canvas tweak and completed a respring, the new resolution settings will be applied to your device. Moreover, on iOS 16, when you switch to the resolution settings for the iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max, Dynamic Island will be effortlessly enabled and accessible from the top of your Home Screen. Canvas tweak for iOS 16 can be used as a restorative measure when you're stuck with Dynamic Island.
If you're in search of a robust alternative to Dynamic Island, look no further than the jailbreak tweak called Dynamic Peninsula, which is compatible with iOS 12 through iOS 16. You can also run the tweak on older devices including iPhone 6, iPhone 7, and iPhone 8.
Dynamic Peninsula boasts a wide array of widgets, encompassing functionalities like incoming and outgoing call notifications, timers, music and Now Playing app alerts, Do Not Disturb events, screen recording notifications, Bluetooth device connections, volume and mute switch events, battery charging and low battery notifications, and even Apple Maps navigation.
